Welcome Wednesday!

Hey everyone!  I’ve made a lot of new friends over the past few weeks from a variety of planner related groups (shoutout to the Llamas and the Jen Plans Budgeting Group!) and have had several people ask me for more information about what I do and how they can do it to so I thought I’d do a brief little intro.

I graduated from high school and began working for a law firm as a legal secretary a few months later.  I worked there all throughout my four years of college and for several months after graduting with my Bachelor’s in Business Administration in May 2010.  In December 2010 I began working as an Administrative Assistant and stayed in that position for almost three years before being promoted to Office Manager.  After a few months as Office Manager I made the risky decision (along with my husband’s support) to resign and pursue work-from-home opportunities as a Virtual Assistant.

I’m a Virtual Assistant in a niche market.  I write content for deal blogs and frugal living blogs and I absolutely LOVE what I do, and I love the freedom that my job gives me.  The career of being a Virtual Assistant is so huge that the opportunities are really endless.  If you have administrative skills and are self-motivated, you can have a legitimate career from your home.

In upcoming blogs posts I’ll be discussing how I took the plunge from being an Office Manager at a reputable firm to being a Virtual Assistant as an Indepdent Contractor.  I plan on answering several questions and giving real advice on how I got started and how you can get your foot in the door.  I’ll answer questions such as…

  • How do you find Clients?
  • How did you learn the necessary skills?
  • Do I have to be a blogger to work from home?

What questions do YOU have about being a Virtual Assistant or making money from home?  I’d love to do a series of posts to give YOU information.  I’ve been working from home for almost two years now and I’ve never had more peace and contentment in my professional career.  I’d LOVE to help you learn more about how to make working from home a reality for you, so please leave your questions in the comments and I’ll to answer as many as I can in upcoming posts.
